AQUA BLASTING AT WALKER'S AUTOTECH
At Walker’s Autotech we are always looking for ways to help our customers keep their cars looking and running at their best, under the bonnet as well as on the outside.
That’s why we’ve invested in our own aqua blasting cabinet. It lets us restore tired, corroded and oil-stained engine components to a clean, factory-fresh finish here in our Wisborough Green workshop. Whether you’re rebuilding an engine or just want a clean engine bay, aqua blasting brings engine parts back to life.
ENQUIRE ABOUT AQUA BLASTING
WHAT IS AQUA BLASTING?
We use a Vixen Aquablast® 1215, one of the larger wet blasting cabinets available, so we can handle everything from small brackets and covers to full cylinder heads and engine blocks.
Aqua blasting, also known as vapour blasting, uses a mix of water, fine abrasive media and compressed air. The water acts as a lubricant, so the part is cleaned by the flow of the mixture rather than hammered by grit. This removes corrosion, oxidation, grease, carbon and staining without damaging the surface.
The result is a smooth, even satin finish that looks straight from the factory. The process is dust-free and doesn’t heat or warp parts, which makes it ideal for aluminium and magnesium engine components. It also degreases while it cleans, and it leaves a smoother surface that stays cleaner for longer.
What can we aqua blast?
- Cylinder heads and engine blocks
- Rocker covers and cam covers
- Sumps and timing covers
- Inlet manifolds and throttle bodies
- Carburettors
- Water pumps, thermostat housings and brackets
If you’re not sure whether a part is suitable, give us a call and we’ll happily take a look.

OUR WORK
A restored Porsche 911 (964) engine from our Wisborough Green workshop. Its crankcases, pictured above, and other alloy components were aqua blasted during the restoration, bringing them back to an as-new satin finish before reassembly.
It’s the same care and attention we give every engine that comes through our doors.
